How F1 Merch Drops Work: Race Editions, Liveries and Limited Runs
Quick answer: every F1 special edition is a single drop. It is produced once, months in advance, and released about a week before the race it celebrates. Depending on the team, it goes live either on the Monday after the previous Grand Prix or on the Thursday when the race weekend starts. When it sells out, it does not come back.

One drop, no restock
Teams and their kit partners plan race editions long before the season reaches that circuit. Each design is manufactured in one batch, usually a few months ahead, and shipped to retailers in time for release. There is no continuous production: once a size or colour is gone, there is no second run. That is why a Monaco cap or a Las Vegas trucker can be impossible to find a few weeks later.
When drops are released
| Release timing | What it looks like |
|---|---|
| Monday after the previous race | For example, with Singapore next Sunday and Azerbaijan just finished, the Singapore drop goes live on the Monday after Azerbaijan. |
| Thursday of race week | Some teams release on the Thursday, when the Grand Prix weekend starts and drivers arrive at the track. |
| After a livery reveal | Items tied to a special livery stay hidden until the livery is shown. |
Why some drops wait for the livery
When a team runs a special livery, the merchandise carries the same design, so it cannot be released before the car is revealed. The same applies at the start of the year: the new season's teamwear is usually only released once the season livery has been launched, because the shirts show the new colours and sponsors.
How to catch a drop
- Know the calendar: drops follow the race calendar, so check which race is next.
- Watch Monday and Thursday: these are the two most common release days.
- Buy your size early: the most common sizes sell out first.
- Follow the collections: see our limited and special editions and race collections such as Las Vegas and Abu Dhabi.
- Get the app: the Fueler app gives you early access to new drops.

Frequently asked questions
Do F1 teams restock special edition merchandise?
No. Each special edition is produced in a single run. When it sells out, it is not made again.
What day are F1 race editions released?
Usually either the Monday after the previous race or the Thursday of race week, depending on the team. Livery editions are released after the livery is revealed.
When is new season F1 teamwear released?
Usually only after the team reveals its new season livery, because the teamwear carries the new design and sponsors.
