F1 Teamwear Size Guide: How to Find Your Size by Brand

Scuderia Ferrari 2026 Team Polo

Quick answer: the size chart for F1 teamwear shows body measurements, not the measurements of the shirt. Measure your chest, waist and hips, then pick the size whose range includes your numbers. Each kit maker, such as PUMA, adidas or Castore, uses the same size guide across every team it produces, unless the product title says it is a different fit.

The most important rule: measure your body, not the shirt

This is the mistake we see most. If a chart says size M is 96 to 102 cm at the chest, that is the chest of the person wearing it, not the width of the T-shirt laid flat. The garment is always cut a little bigger than your body so it fits comfortably. If you measure a shirt you already own and compare it with the chart, you will end up one or two sizes too big.

How to measure yourself

  1. Chest: wrap a soft tape around the fullest part of your chest, under your arms, keeping it level.
  2. Waist: measure around your natural waist, just above the belly button.
  3. Hips: measure around the widest part of your hips.
  4. Compare: wear a thin T-shirt, keep the tape snug but not tight, and compare your numbers with the chart for that brand.

The fits you will see

Fit What it means Where you see it
Standard fit The normal fit, true to the size chart Most team shirts, polos and jackets
Relaxed fit A little looser through the body for a casual look Lifestyle tees and hoodies
Oversized fit Cut deliberately big, with dropped shoulders and a longer body Lifestyle and streetwear pieces

Slim and athletic fits are rare in F1 merchandise, and the brands we carry focus on standard, relaxed and oversized cuts. When an item has a different fit, it is usually written in the product title, for example the Williams Oversized T-Shirt or the Ayrton Senna relaxed fit Logo T-Shirt.

One size guide per brand

Kit makers use the same pattern for every team they produce. A size M from PUMA fits the same whether it is Ferrari, McLaren or Aston Martin. What changes between brands is the cut, so always use the chart of the brand that makes your item.

Brand Teams in 2026
PUMA Ferrari, McLaren, Aston Martin
adidas Mercedes, Audi
Castore Red Bull Racing, Alpine, Haas
New Era Williams
Tommy Hilfiger Cadillac
HUGO Racing Bulls

You will find the charts for each brand on our size guide page.

Between two sizes?

Our exchange data gives a clear hint: around 90% of customers who exchange Ferrari, Aston Martin or Porsche items go for a smaller size. So if you are between two sizes and do not want a baggy look, choose the smaller one. If you prefer a loose fit, or you will wear it over a layer, take your normal size.

Frequently asked questions

Do F1 shirts run small or large?

Most standard fit teamwear is true to size when you use your body measurements. Many customers find Ferrari, Aston Martin and Porsche items roomy, so if you are between sizes, the smaller size usually works best.

Is the size chart for my body or for the shirt?

For your body. Measure your chest, waist and hips and compare those numbers with the chart, not the measurements of a shirt laid flat.

Is a PUMA size M the same for Ferrari and McLaren?

Yes. Each brand uses one size guide for all the teams it produces, unless the product title says it is a different fit, such as oversized or relaxed.
